After accepting the bid Jeff from Able called and stated it would be 1950.00 instead of 1500.00 I paid the entire shipment in full. As they arrived they determined it was going to be an additional 1500.00 to transport this boat 125 miles. They offered me a 1000.00 refund and are keeping my 950.00 to pay for an escort and license. Due to this, I am forced to file a small claims against this company for the remaining balance due back t Response from AbleBoatTransport: Boat dimensions changed when ableboat transport showed up. obviously we can't give the same price for a "bigger" boat. But, Able Boat did not do a "complete" shipment from point A to point B. I had to learn about what was needed to haul this boat out.To give Able Boat Transport credit, none of us knew what needed to happen.I didn't like that some of burden was left on my shoulders to figure things out; like calling the permit company to find out what the hold up was. Able Boat is a transport broker.Make sure you know all the details!! Response from AbleBoatTransport: Dept. of Parks for Nevada had just invoked a new charge for a permit to haul out of the federal park locations. Able did "eat" the cost of this permit and we had to wait an add'l time for permit to be issued. Also, due to holidays we had to wait for permit to run into NY and also did not charge customer for add'l wait time. Certainly, this was a learning curve for us to now charge for add'l permit in Nevada and Arizona for state parks fee. You sure did get a great rate!!! Thank U for your biz

Lack of communication left me waiting at the marina for the shipment. Response from AbleBoatTransport: We appologize for the misunderstanding for our driver to our customer.We do understand the frustration.Although transportation isn't an exact science and things happen that are unforseen.There was confusion with the driver.Which there was a delay at delivery.In the future we will be open on the weekends for boats in transit.The boat arrived in same condition as pickup and the same day just a few hours later.Thanks Jeff

Wasted 30 days. Response from AbleBoatTransport: There were several phone call communications between client and Able. Paperwork was sent and not received back to our office for scheduling.

We do not dispatch trucks without deposit. I told customer the fee that he paid $187.50 was the u ship broker fee. He had thought that I had recieved that money( 187.50) and was asking for an additional deposit. Jeff

Rating: Cancellation Left for: jpwhiley (0) On: 11/29/2007 For: 33 ft Viking from CT to NJU	Customer feels I misrepresented my business and/or services Ableboat transport showed up on scheduled time as agreed by Jason Whiley and Ableboat .The specs the customer posted were inaccurate when we showed up to pickup boat.The standing height per contract was 13' and the actual when we showed up for transport was 14.2 tall boats can't be transported at this standing height.Able also sent customer preparation sheet a week and half ahead to make sure that this wouldn't be an issue.Able boat made every effort to help customer with transport and the same
