I have a Dodge 2500 3/4 ton club cab large bed pickup and a 6x12 open utility trailer. Normally this is used most of the year for my lawn care operation but during the winter months I am using the vehicle during idle time. The truck is equipped with a class-III trailer hitch and a standard 2" receiver which takes most any size ball. This limits the vehicle to towing 8,000 pounds curb weight and the towed unit's GVWR can not be in excess of 10,000 pounds (no matter what is loaded, ratings have to do with CDL). As for hauling, the trailer's weight limit is around 4,000 pounds tops thou I prefer 3,000 max, the trailer does have load rating C radials, an equivalent of 6-ply HD tires. I have a perfect driving record and am willing to provide proof of this upon request, insurance-wise I have minimum liability and gen.bus.liab.
